Knife gate valves are intended for opening/closing in systems with thick, viscous, corrosive and abrasive substances. These valves have a minimal pressure drop in the fully open position, are easy to activate, have a relatively low weight and are economical.
They are particularly useful when applied in connection with waste water where corrosion is an important issue. They have a sharpened knife (wedge) that cuts through impurities.
